Providing fresh aloe Vera plants to individuals who are fighting cancer
Nancy Helzing, a LCHS parishioner valiantly fought cancer, and suffered the side effects of treatment – most notably the painful burns of radiation therapy. In 2009, Nancy envisioned a new ministry - growing aloe vera plants and giving them to patients at the Alexian Brothers Cancer Institute (where she was a patient and volunteer), and others in our community who were fighting this terrible disease. With her help, this ministry was born. We truly appreciate the staff and doctors at the Alexian Brothers Cancer Institute who assist us with this ministry.
If you or someone you know is fighting cancer, and could use an aloe vera plant to help provide some relief for radiation burns, please contact our church office at 1-847-437-5897. Return the card attached to the plant, and you will be included in the prayers of our congregation, and contacted by our Pastor (if so desired).
Our thoughts and prayers go out to those individuals battling this horrible disease.
Nancy now rests with our LORD in heaven.
